Next Tuesday, for the collab series at @cityhomecollective, we are taking you on a Prana Yama and nada yoga (sound yoga)-infused sound journey with the talented and knowledgeable Alec Soderberg ( @allwaves_ ) on March 22nd.
This event will be a beautiful collaboration of yogic breathwork, vocal toning, and live music with guitar, voice, handpan, and tongue drums, ending with a long sound bath. Throughout the journey, Justin will be offering live drumming, hands-on assistance, tuning forks essential oils, reiki, crystals, and smudging to help you through the process, as well as using sound healing instruments like crystal bowls & harmonic chimes, plus a long set of music.
A little about Alec and Justin—
Alec is a teacher of Vedic knowledge—the source from which all Yoga, Ayurvedic Medicine, and Indian Philosophy emerged.
He has practiced and trained with teachers in the U.S. and India since 2012 and is the founder/owner of @srishala__, a Vedic yoga studio in SLC. He is passionate about sharing the ancient art of meditation in a way that is compatible with modern life.
In addition to teaching Vedic Meditation, Alec also writes and records his own original music under the name All Waves. His music is a mix of indie-pop and Indian devotional music. Blending English and Sanskrit mantras together to create a unique heartfelt sound.
Justin (of @MalocaSound) has been a drummer for 27 years, but discovered his passion and distinct medicine with sound vibrations through his own healing journey that led him to the magic of tongue drums, hang drums, and sound healing.
Following his obsession with sound wave frequencies, harmonics, and overtones, he has spent nearly a decade working extensively with medicine ceremonies, leading sound meditations, and playing live music with a variety of yoga and breathwork teachers.
